WPLoyalty - Guest Referral

Explore the functionality of the Guest Referral addon in your online store with WPLoyalty.

Introduction:

Using the "WPLoyalty - Guest Referral" addon, friends who are new customers/ Referred Person) can quickly get their rewards. All they need to do is provide their email in a popup, and they can use the reward they earned from the Referral Campaign during their very first purchase itself.

Once your friend finishes making their first purchase, the person who referred them or the existing customer will get Points or Rewards through the Referral Campaign.

Why is WPLoyalty - Guest Referral is needed ?

The current Referral Campaign offers a reward to a friend or a new customer once they finish their initial purchase, which they can later redeem in their second or future orders.

With the WPLoyalty - Guest Referral Addon, we can give Referral Campaign rewards to new customers or friends as soon as they enter their email in the pop-up. They can then use this reward in their very first order.

So, if you want to give rewards to new customers or friends in their first order, this addon is a great choice.

There are two ways you can get the WPLoyalty - Guest Referral Addon, after purchasing:

Purchase Confirmation email : We send this email as soon as you have purchased the addon. The email contains the link to download the latest version of the WPLoyalty - Guest Referral and the license key
Your WPLoyalty Account page: Please go to My Account page. Login with your email address and password. Once logged into the My Account page, you will be able to download the latest version of the plugin and also get the license key

Once downloaded, proceed to install and activate the add-on.

Activating License Key:

Either, you can get the license key in the "Purchase confirmation email" that we send to you immediately after you purchase the WPLoyalty.
Or please login to My Account page and click on the "View Licenses" link
Then, go to Wordpress backend -> WPLoyalty -> Add-ons -> choose the WPLoyalty - Guest Referral addon -> click on Open -> Settings
Enter the license key and Activate it.

Please note that WPLoyalty PRO and WPLoyalty - Guest Referral Addon require different license key. So please make sure to activate the license key for both respectively.

Let’s get started,

Step 1: Creating a Referral Campaign

Example scenario: Referring person (existing customer) gets 100 points and Friend gets $10 off Reward

Creating a $10 off Reward:

Go to Wordpress backend -> WPLoyalty -> Rewards
Click on the button “Create New Reward” and choose “Fixed Discount” as reward type

Then configure the Reward as shown in the below screenshot:

Details of configurations are:

Give a title for the reward. For example: Friend gets $10 off
Choose the option “Choose how this reward should be used ? -> Reward as a coupon immediately” (You also have the option to choose the reward type as points but please note that friends' reward type should always be a Coupon. Hence for creating Rewards for Referral Campaign choose the reward type as immediate coupons)
Set discount value as $10 for example
Configure other optional sections if required and save the reward.

Creating a Referral Campaign:

Go to Wordpress backend -> WPLoyalty -> Campaigns
Click on the button “Create New Campaign” and choose “Referral Campaign” as campaign type

Then configure the campaign as shown in the below screenshot:

Details of configurations are:

Give a title for the campaign
For existing customer, choose the reward type as Points and set 100 points (you also have option to choose coupon as reward type too)
For new customers, choose the type of reward as “Coupon reward” and select the $10 off coupon reward by typing a few characters of the title name.
Then, save the Campaign

Step 2: Setting up the “WPLoyalty - Guest Referral” addon

Go to Wordpress back end -> WPLoyalty -> Add-ons
Choose the addon “WPLoyalty - Guest Referral” -> click on the button “Open”

Then from the settings tab, select the created Referral Campaign in the setting “Choose a referral campaign that is eligible for the guest referral” and save it.

How does the “WPLoyalty - Guest Referral addon” work ?

Getting Referral URL as existing customer:

Existing customers can get their referral URL from Customer Reward Page
Or from Launcher

Testing the Referral Campaign as new customer/ Friend:

Copy the referral URL and paste it in a New incognito private window
This will help you simulate a friend making their first purchase. Also, make sure to use a new email address when placing an order as a friend because the friend reward is given only for the first purchase.
As soon the referral URL is loaded, a pop-up like below screenshot will get displayed

From the pop-up give a new email ID and click on “Claim Reward”
Now, new customers/ friends will earn a Reward ($10 off instantly) which they can redeem in their first/ upcoming orders they are going to place.

Please note that Friend/ new customer will earn Referral Reward only if he is a new customer/ no orders placed from the given email ID.

As soon as a new customer/ Friend completes his first purchase, the existing customer/ referring person will receive Points (100 points via Referral Campaign).

How to further customise the popups ?

Go to the “Reward Claim Pop-up” tab and from here you can further customize the popup like changing images, color, text and save the changes.

To customize Reward Claim Pop-up:

Go to Wordpress back end -> WPLoyalty -> Add-ons
Choose the addon “WPLoyalty - Guest Referral” -> click on the button “Open”

To customize Reward Coupon Pop-up:

Go to the “Reward Coupon Pop-up” tab and from here you can further customize the popup like changing images, color, text, URL of the shop and save the changes.

How to enable/ disable the addon “WPLoyalty - Guest Referral” ?

Go to the WordPress backend -> WPLoyalty -> Add-ons -> choose the addon “WPLoyalty - Guest Referral”
From there, you can activate or deactivate the add-on using the button “Activate” or “Deactivate”

IMPORTANT NOTE: For this add-on to work the existing / referring persons reward type can be Points/ Rewards but the new customers/ Referred Person’s reward type should always be a coupon.
